(Dublin, Ohio) – At its Jan. 8 organizational meeting, Dublin City Council elected Chris Amorose Groomes to serve as mayor and Christina Alutto as vice mayor for two-year terms.
Both Amorose Groomes and Alutto were first elected at-large Council Members in 2015 and re-elected in 2019 and 2023. They were sworn in to their third four-year terms at Monday’s meeting.
Mayor Amorose Groomes previously served as mayor from 2020 to 2022 and as vice mayor from 2018 to 2020. She is a life-long Dublin resident and owner of Amorose Landscape Service. Mayor Amorose Groomes also serves as the incoming chair of the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission and was tapped by the National League of Cities to serve on the Information Technology and Communications Federal Advocacy Committee.
Vice Mayor Alutto currently serves as the interim chief people officer for the Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA). Prior to her role at COTA, she worked for the nonprofit Community Housing Network as the chief administrative and financial officer. She is a member of the Fisher College of Business Alumni Board at The Ohio State University and a guest speaker for the John Glenn School of Public Affairs.
Every two years following the election of the four ward or three at-large Dublin City Council Members, the Council as a whole elects a mayor and vice mayor at its first meeting in January. In addition to Amorose Groomes and Alutto, at-large Council Member Andy Keeler was re-elected in November and sworn in at Monday’s meeting. Their new four-year terms will end Dec. 31, 2027. The four ward Council Members’ seats will be up for election in 2025.
At Monday’s meeting, Mayor Amorose Groomes announced appointments of members to serve on Council committees and as representatives to community organizations, including the following:
- Administrative Committee – Council Member Cathy De Rosa, chair; Alutto; and Council Member Amy Kramb
- Community Development Committee – Council Member John Reiner, chair; Keeler and Council Member Jane Fox
- Finance Committee – Keeler, chair; Alutto; and Reiner
- Public Services Committee – Kramb, chair; De Rosa and Fox
- Planning and Zoning Commission – De Rosa
- Architectural Review Board – Kramb
- Dublin Arts Council – Reiner
- Dublin Bridges – De Rosa
- Dublin City Schools Board of Education – Fox and Keeler
- Logan/Union/Champaign Regional Planning Commission – Keeler
- Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission – Amorose Groomes
- S. 33 Corridor – De Rosa and Fox
- Veterans Committee – Reiner
- Washington Township – Kramb
